718 Outdoors has been leading our Adirondacks Tour since 2016, and each year we add a wrinkle and refine the experience as only guides with hands-on experience can. Climbing in the High Peeks Region, or traversing many of the western lakes, there is no better way to experience the beauty of New York State.
Registration for all of 718 Outdoors Tours usually happen the first week of January, with the trips subsequently happening during our Touring Season, which runs mid-March to early-November
Our Adirondacks Tour route is a counter-clockwise circumnavigation of the Adirondack Park, starting and ending in Schenectady, NY Keane, Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Tupper lake, Long Lake, Indian Lake, Speculator and Northville.
On our Adirondacks Tour, we are camping for 7 nights, and each night is at a New York State Campground. After being on the road all day, its nice to have the "standardization" of New York State Campgrounds (showers, bathrooms, electrical outlets, water access, fire pits, etc.). We stay at the following sites:
We plan our route so that the group will be able to acquire food during the day in order to cook/eat at camp for dinner and breakfast.
From the High Peaks Region earlier in the ride, through the Lakes Region as we head south form lake Placed on the 2nd half our the ride, our Adirondacks Tour is filled with the unmatched beauty that only upstate New York can offer.
What is also amazing about upstate New York is that public access to nature is everywhere. From fishing rivers to beaches to mountain climbs, I feel that no other state does it better in terms of providing access to nature.
All 718 Outdoors Tours are about the journey and the destination, with an emphasis on the journey. Our Adirondacks Tour is no exception, and is a shining example of the joy of the "things you'll find along the way". This trip is filled with great towns to stop in, and we make sure that our ride is broken up every 10 miles or so with a relaxing and enjoyable rest stop.
All of the 718 Outdoors Tours are "no-drop" rides, as no one is left behind. I employ a Support Rider on each trip with the specific job of making sure no one gets behind them. We average about 10-12mph moving, and we stop frequently. If you are looking to set a FKT (Fastest Known Time), this is not the group for you.
We have beginners join us on each and every tour that we do
People have been know to work in an Airbnb or hotel into our trips.

This is a collection of gear that I wouldn't be caught without on any of our Bike Tours. I have led over 125 group Bike Tours, and have developed an affinity for things that just work.
The list may grow or shrink, but will always contain items that have been tested on many, many bike tours with me. Every one of these items is packed in my bags on every trip I go on.
