Description: 718 is returning to Vermont for the first time since 2014. Our 2025 Vermont Tour is a 7 day/6 night self-supported bike camping trip. Starting (and ending) in Burlington VT, we are tracing a counter-clockwise route of the rail trails, gravel roads and country roads of Northern Vermont.
Itinerary:
- Day 1 Sun, Aug 10: Burlington to Branbury State Park, 52 miles (leave at 8am)
- Day 2 Mon, Aug 11: to Silver Lake State Park, 42 miles
- Day 3 Tues Aug 12: to New Discovery State Park, 64 miles
- Day 4, Wed, Aug 13: to Elmore State Park, 47 miles
- Day 5 Thur, Aug 14: to Lake Carmi State Park, 56 miles
- Day 6. Fri, Aug 15: to Grand Isle State Park, 55 miles
- Day 7 Sat, Aug 16: Return to Burlington, 21 miles
- Totals 337 Miles, 18,199' elevation
Notes on Train Service: There are 2 trains that go to Burlington, the Ethan Allen and the Vermonter. See map below.
- To reserve the Ethan Allen, you must select "Burlington Union Station" (BTN) as a destination (it is very easy to pick "Burlington Transit Center...don't select this).
- To reserve the Vermonter, select "Essex Junction" (ESX) as your destination. This is about 7 miles west of downtown Burlington.
- In both instances, be sure to add your bike as an extra service
