Bikepacking tents

My Top 6 Bikepacking Tents for 2025

As someone who had led over 175 bikepacking group trips, I have a few thoughts and recommendations on tents you might consider.

In making your selection, I would consider, weight, size (number of sleepers), cost, durability and the use case/number of times user per year.

(I don't include pricing as thing change a lot with sales etc, and there's no way for me to manage that)

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 Bikepack Tent

I have used the one-person (UL1) version of this tent on over 100 trips over 7+ years. More and more, I am seeing folks get the 2-person (UL2) of this tent as it allows for more space inside (for an additional person or to store gear) at a very minimal weight and cost increase (Joe).

"Create a home away from home on 2-wheeled adventures with the redesigned Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 Bikepack tent. It boasts a roomier interior and a lighter, stronger fabrication than before."

(This in on a pretty massive sale right now)

Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel 2P or 3P Bikepack Tent

I always like seeing this tent at camp.  Because it's Big Agnes, you know the quality is there. In addition it has the great "porch" functionality that allows for bike and gear storage (Joe).

"Designed to easily fit on your handlebar or in your panniers, this Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel 2 Bikepack tent sleeps 2—or 1 with extra gear—and is ideal for your 2-wheeled adventures on and off road."

REI Half Dome 2 Tent with Footprint

This is a tent I see a lot on bikepacking trips, as it is quite affordable for how technically proficient it is. I don't think there is any tent on the market that has been as refined as the Half Dome over the years (Joe).

"The REI Co-op Half Dome 2-person tent keeps backpacking trips comfortable. Its thoughtful design, easy setup and protective rainfly are built on 45+ years of member input."

NEMO Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO 1P or 2P Tent

Nemo tents always look so angular and cool, use very high-tech materials, and pack down small in a bikepacking specific bag (Joe).

"The NEMO Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO 2P tent is tailored specifically for two-wheeled journeys, canoe trips and other excursions where its ultrasmall pack-down size will make a huge difference."

MSR Hubba Hubba Bikepack 1 and 1 Person Tent

The 3 things I like about this tent are that it's a total rectangle (not tapered), the zippered panels aren't curved (ease of use) and its rather tall inside space (Joe).

"Made for adventurous cyclists, the MSR Hubba Hubba Bikepack 1-person or 2-person tents secures to your handlebar and has cycling-specific features that keep you comfy after a long ride"

Sea to Summit Telos TR2 Bikepack Tent

This is a tent I haven't seen in person, but what attracts me to it are the way that you can control airflow with vents, and the fact that it can be either staked or pitched with trekking poles (Joe).

"Built to be even easier to transport via kayak, motorcycle or bike, the Sea to Summit Telos TR2 Bikepack tent boasts a roomy interior and multiple setup modes for extra-comfy adventures for two.:
