The idea for My Bike Makeover came during a night of pizza and (non-alcoholic for me) beer. Since closing my retail shop, I had been searching for ways to incorporate my understanding of how people interact with their bikes, my experience leading bike tours, and a desire to stay connected with people.
Maybe you're looking to use your existing bike to Bike Tour across Europe. Or maybe, it's dragging the old dusty bike out of the basement to begin commuting again. Our Bike Makeover process is a non-judgmental assessment of what you have and what you might need.
The world of Cycling is vast and rewarding, however there are some (perceived or otherwise) barriers to entry. My Bike Makeover focuses on the Bike and Gear aspects of your situation.
I use real, easy to understand language and diagrams to help you better understand your bike. I have built my business and reputation in the Bike Industry with this approach.
My Bike Makeover is an entirely digital, free, no obligation approach to getting you set up. Basically, fill out this form to get started.
If I am able to take on your Bike Makeover, I will develop some suggestions as well as a part list for your review. Buy the parts from me, or buy them from you local bikes shop. It's up to you.
By submitting to 718, you agree that your bike and general route info may be used in digital content that we create. Your name and contact info will obviously remain private.
In my 16 years as a Bike and Adventure Shop owner, I estimate that I have built over 1,100 frame-up bike builds, built another 1,500 stock bikes, and have repaired countless bikes.
Also, since 2014, I have lead over 150 Bike Tours, taking hundreds of people thousands of miles on journeys of varying lengths and routes.
The process, described above, is essentially the same way I've been working directly with people since 2008. Listening, understanding and collaborating has been my approach all these years.
As one of my former employees used to say, "It's a listening game".
